The City of Santa Clarita is asking the you take down old “yard sale” and “garage sale” signs left in light/telephone poles throughout the city.
In an effort to maintain clean neighborhoods, the City of Santa Clarita would like to encourage residents to remove outdated yard sale signs.
“Excessive signs can cause unwanted blight in our community. To help maintain a high aesthetic value in our neighborhoods, the City is asking community members to help remove outdated garage and yard sale signs,” said Mayor Laurie Ender.
According to the City’s municipal code, residents are permitted to have no more than three garage or yard sales in any calendar year and each garage or yard sale cannot exceed three consecutive days. Signage promoting the sales is prohibited along any highway or other public right-of-way within the

This can affect home values in neighborhoods of Santa Clarita as it is an eyesore. People notice clutter when looking for homes for sale in Santa Clarita neighborhoods. If it is their first time in that neighborhood they inspect every detail as they drive up to the home for sale.
